Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on this website, what they do, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Our cookie promise
We'd rather earn your trust than engineer it. A few commitments we hold ourselves to:
- No dark patterns. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting — one click, no buried menus, no pre-ticked boxes — and we honour a "no" completely.
- Least data, clear purpose. Essential cookies keep the site working; analytics and marketing tags run only after you agree, and only to measure and improve. We never sell your data.
- Decline, and we go cookieless. If you say no, we switch to Google Consent Mode: we see anonymous, aggregate traffic without storing anything on your device — measurement, not tracking.
- Not perfect — but trying. We aim to be fair and fully compliant with current law (GDPR and ePrivacy), and we keep improving. If you see something we could do better, tell us at [email protected] — we genuinely appreciate it. Thank you.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things — like whether you've dismissed a banner — and help owners understand how their site is used. We also use similar browser storage (such as local and session storage) for the same purposes.
2. How we use them
We keep cookies to a minimum. Essential ones run the site. With your permission, we also use analytics (Google Analytics 4) to see which pages are useful, and a marketing pixel (Meta) to measure our own advertising. None of the optional tags load until you accept, and we don't sell your data.
3. The cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cittago-consent local storage | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted all cookies or essential only, so we don't ask again. | 12 months (or until you clear this site's data) | Always on |
| cittago-speed session storage | Essential (functional) | Temporarily holds your last page-speed result so it can be shown while you browse the tools. | Cleared when you close the tab | Always on |
| _ga, _ga_* analytics | Analytics / performance | Aggregated, privacy-friendly measurement of which pages are useful (Google Analytics 4). | Up to 24 months | Only with your consent |
| _fbp Meta Pixel | Marketing | Lets us measure our own ad campaigns and how visits turn into enquiries. Set by Meta. | Up to 3 months | Only with your consent |
If you choose essential only, the analytics and marketing tags stay off and switch to Google Consent Mode — we receive anonymous, aggregate signals with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. Nothing that could identify you runs without your consent.
4. Managing your choice
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies or keep essential only — both a single click. You can reopen this choice at any time via Cookie settings in the site footer, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — though essential cookies are needed for parts of the site to work.
5. Third-party cookies
Some tools we rely on (Google Analytics and the Meta pixel) may set their own cookies once you consent. These are governed by the providers' own policies; we only enable them after you accept.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our tools change. For any question, email [email protected] — Cittago S.R.L., Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
